Free Walking Tours in New Orleans (Budget Friendly Activity!)

If you are looking for some low-cost things to do in New Orleans, this post about free walking tours in New Orleans is perfect for you! Free walking tours are my favorite way to see and learn about a new city at a very affordable cost. It’s also a great way to get acquainted with a new town, meet other travelers and have someone to ask for local recommendations. Free walking tours are free to sign up for and participate in; all they ask at the end is a “tip” for the tour at what you feel the tour was worth and can afford. The typical suggested tip is $15-25 (but you are not obligated to any amount).
New Orleans is a city that must be experienced on foot. Luckily, a couple of walking tours are available to help visitors get acquainted with the Big Easy. Here are a few free walking tours, including the walking tours I took in New Orleans in December 2021.

Free Tours By Foot
I did two walking tours with Free Tours By Foot during my three-day stay in New Orleans and had a great experience with both. Their Food Tour was informative and fun, and their Garden District Tour was full of New Orleans history. So I highly recommend this company from my experiences!
Tours offered by this company include The French Quarter, The Garden District, New Orleans Ghosts, Voodoo Tour, St. Louis #3 Cemetary and Bayou John, and others.
They also have self-guided audio tours you can download for $2.99, as well as private tours for $25. Very very affordable!
Also, as a side note, their website has YouTube videos of the tours which is helpful to see the kind of content you will get on a tour with them. I also found them beneficial to help me get familiar with the city before arriving.

NOLA Tour Guy
Here’s another great option for free walking tours in New Orleans. Check out NOLA Tour Guy!
Tours include French Quarter, The Garden District, and Cemetary Tour.
They also have private tours available for $20.
I wouldn’t hesitate to give them a try, they have excellent ratings on Trip Advisor!
If you’re looking for a great way to see the city, I highly recommend taking one of the free walking tours. Not only are they affordable, but you also get to learn about New Orleans’s history and culture from a local guide. Would you take one of the free walking tours in New Orleans?
